Bracco calls all Italian children to draw seasonal illnesses

Milan, Italy , 11/21/2013

“Bracco in Pediatrics: Disegnami.it” is an initiative organized in a national contest which has as its protagonists children and young people up to 14 years of age and two workshops based on the method of the renowned designer, Bruno Munari, who made artistic entertainment aimed at the youngest among us one of his teachings most deeply rooted in the collective imagination.

The contest, Disegnami.it, is held mainly on the website www.disegnami.it, where the contest rules may be found and downloaded, drawings may be uploaded, and where winners will be chosen through online voting.

“Between the pediatrician and the mother the child can often be pushed to the sidelines” says Hilke Baasch, Director of the Pharma Department of Bracco Group. “Through art we want to bring the child back to the center of this relationship.” The Disegnami.it contest has two exceptional testimonials: Matì and Dadà, two Italian cartoon characters broadcast on RAI YoYo.

The contest is open to all children who want to try their hand in a fun contest of imagination and drawing on five issues (stomach ache, sore throat, earache, fever and cough). Participation in the contest can be made through the website www.disegnami.it by August 26, 2014 or by traditional post mailed to: Bracco SPA, CP 17052 20128 Milan, by July 31, 2014.

In addition to children and their parents, Italian pediatricians have also been involved in this project. Bracco representatives are in fact delivering over 250,000 drawing kits to six thousand doctors in various regions, which they will then give to their little patients.

The kits have been made in Italy on FSC certified paper, which derives from forests managed according to strict standards of sustainability. Moreover, all the material has been assembled by young people with disabilities from the Foundation RSA “Garibaldi Pogliani” of Cantù city and Mirabilia Dei, a Social Cooperative of Varese city.

The project “Disegnami.it” was announced during an event held at the Triennale of Milan, which was attended by: Oreste Castagna, presenter of RAI YoYo, Giovanna Bo of Acthoons, author of Matì and Dadà, Roberto Schettino, coordinator of RAI children channels, Philippe Daverio, art historian and Professor at the University of Palermo, Michela Dezzani, holder of Munaria and Hilke Baasch, Director of the Pharma Department of Bracco Group.

The first day of the Munari creative workshops was held in Milan on Saturday, November 9, and involved more than 200 children from 5 to 10 years old who worked on three themes: The Patch: What does the patch shape bring to mind? Another theme: The Nose: A workshop using photomontage which aims to animate images of noses with the technique of making marks and drawing. And finally: The Spotted Face: Playing with measles and chickenpox.
