Bracco Americas Headquarters Earns Prestigious LEED Certification
A Milestone in Sustainable Design and Workplace Well-being
Bracco proudly announces that its Americas Headquarters in Princeton, NJ, has achieved LEED v4 ID+C: Commercial Interiors Certification under the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This milestone underscores Bracco’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, employee well-being, and environmental stewardship.
Building a Healthier, More Sustainable Future
Launched in mid-2024, the headquarters renovation project set out to create a modern workspace that combines energy efficiency, healthy materials, and biophilic design. Through close collaboration with leading sustainability consultants, qualified vendors, and internal teams, Bracco implemented advanced air quality monitoring, optimized ventilation, low-flow fixtures, and energy-efficient lighting.
In October 2025, Bracco’s Princeton office at 510 Carnegie Center officially earned LEED certification. The project transformed approximately 30,000 square feet into a vibrant, efficient environment featuring ergonomic workstations, natural daylight access, and an immersive experience center—all aligned with the company’s mission to deliver innovation responsibly.
“Achieving LEED certification is more than a designation—it’s a reflection of Bracco’s values and our belief that sustainable design enhances how we work, collaborate, and innovate."
Jeff Fleming, President & Chief Executive Officer, Bracco Americas
Celebrating the Achievement
On November 18, 2025, Bracco commemorated this accomplishment with a plaque ceremony at its Princeton headquarters. The celebration included remarks from company leadership, representatives from USGBC, and project partners The Sheward Partnership, BXP, and D2 Groups, followed by a toast to the cross-functional team whose expertise and dedication made the certification possible.
What LEED Means for Bracco
LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the world’s most widely used green building rating system and a globally recognized symbol of excellence in sustainable building. LEED-certified buildings deliver measurable outcomes—reduced energy consumption and improved air quality.
At Bracco, the certification process reinforced a people-first approach to sustainability—creating a workplace that is not only efficient but also restorative and inspiring.
A better place
"Bracco’s LEED certification demonstrates tremendous green building leadership," said Peter Templeton, president and CEO, USGBC. "LEED was created to make the world a better place and revolutionize our buildings and communities by providing everyone with access to healthy, green and high performing buildings. Bracco is a prime example of how the innovative work of project teams can create local solutions that contribute to making a global difference."
Location and Transportation
Situated in BXP’s 510 Carnegie Center, the site integrates green infrastructure, EV charging, and access to public transit, bike paths, and wellness amenities. Carnegie Center’s campus grounds have also received Wildlife Habitat Conservation Certification.
Water Efficiency
The project achieved a 32% reduction in potable water use compared to a baseline building, saving over 46,000 gallons annually through low-flow fixtures and efficient plumbing systems.
Energy and Atmosphere
Lighting power density was reduced by 31%, with over one-third of fixtures linked to daylight controls. Bracco also benefits from BXP’s large solar photovoltaic parking canopy systems, which generate clean energy for the campus. Bala Consulting Engineers led the commissioning process, developing construction checklists, system tests, and an issues log to ensure all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems performed as designed.
Materials and Resources
Over 70% of materials by cost supported circular economy goals—through furniture reuse, recycled-content products, and transparent Environmental and Health Product Declarations (EPDs and HPDs).
Indoor Environmental Quality
The office achieved 100% compliance with low-emitting materials for flooring and insulation, ensuring a healthy indoor environment with superior air quality and comfort.
Innovation
Daylighting and views were prioritized, achieving 62% spatial daylight autonomy and 75% visual connection to the outdoors, promoting wellness and productivity.

Looking Ahead
For Bracco, this achievement is part of a global journey toward carbon neutrality and responsible operations. Following the LEED Gold certification of Bracco’s Milan Headquarters, the Princeton certification further demonstrates how sustainable design is integral to Bracco’s global identity.
“Every choice—from the materials we selected to the way we moved into our new space—reflects our belief that sustainability is not a separate initiative, but part of who we are,” said Director of Sustainability, Amy King, Bracco Americas.
As Bracco continues to innovate in diagnostic imaging and healthcare, its headquarters now stand as a living example of how thoughtful design can benefit both people and the planet.
