Accademia della Scala at Expo 2020

Wednesday, November 24, the National Day of Italy was celebrated at Expo2020 Dubai, with a concert by soloists and orchestra of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, conducted by Donato Renzetti. Italian and foreign institutional authorities were present.

The event, held at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre, was realized thanks to the support of Fondazione Bracco, Gold Sponsor of the Italian Pavilion at Expo and Founding Member of the Academy.

For the day celebrating our country, the Italian Pavilion has chosen the young talents of the Teatro alla Scala, some of whom are already established professionals, entrusting them to the guidance of a conductor of extraordinary experience as Donato Renzetti. The performance was a tribute to the great Italian opera repertoire. The soprano Clarissa Costanzo, the mezzo-soprano Martina Serra, the tenor Azer Zada and the baritone Ettore Chi Hoon Lee interpreted arias and ensemble pieces of our operatic tradition.

"With the Accademia Teatro alla Scala Fondazione Bracco has a special bond," says Diana Bracco, President of Fondazione Bracco. "In 2012, in fact, we decided to focus an important part of our cultural activities on the new generations in all fields, giving birth to the project Diventerò - Fondazione Bracco per i giovani, which offers training opportunities through an articulated program of scholarships, degree awards and training internships. In this context, the partnership with Accademia Teatro alla Scala was born, with which we share first and foremost the value of culture as an educational tool capable of improving the quality of life and strengthening social cohesion. In these years", adds Diana Bracco.
